Of course the main consideration when choosing kratom is which strain(s) to go for, as they each have unique characteristics. The purpose of this website is to make that process easier.
Also, however, you will need to find a good vendor. The following suggestions might help:
- Avoid 'legal highs' vendors like the plague! The last thing you want is a vendor who specialises in legal/herbal highs and offers mitragyna speciosa alongside dubious 'party pills' and other such products. A lot of reputable kratom vendors offer other entheogens, but never dubious products in gaudy packaging.
- Following on from the above, avoid vendors who sell kratom in very small quantities, such as 10 gram packets or small numbers of capsules. They are not aiming their marketing at the kratom afficionado, so it follows that the kratom is more likely to be of dubious quality. Whilst it is always a good idea to start with smaller amounts of a strain to see how you like it, look for a vendor who offers quantities of at least 100g on their website.
- Avoid vendors with a huge selection of different kratom products. A large catalogue can mean one of two things: either their stock is so large that the kratom is unlikely to be fresh, or (more likely) a lot of the products are blends that you would be better off making up for yourself once you are acquainted with the effects of the various strains available.
- Communicate with a vendor: if it is not obvious from the blurb on the website, make sure they are knowledgeable about the provenance of their kratom. Too many kratom suppliers purchase their stock from a wholesaler based in the US or Europe and have no idea about the quality or freshness of their product.
